The Protein Works Protein Cookies Tried & Tested Review:
We’ve grabbed a box of Salted Caramel Carnage and samples of the Triple Choc Trouble and the Rocky Choc Mashup, to let you know exactly what they’re like!
Salted Caramel Carnage Protein Cookie Review:
If you’ve read my review of the Whey Protein 360 by The Protein Works then you’ll know I already love their Salted caramel protein flavourings. But does the cookie live up?
Taste:
To start, this is not like any ordinary cookie. It’s almost more like a cake, or a rolled out protein bar. It’s quite dry and chewy but it does have a great flavour to it. They are very soft, easy to eat and super filling. Personally I’m not too keen on the texture, but I could live with it.
Rating
6.5/10. Great flavour – not so great texture.
Triple Chocolate Trouble Protein Cookie Review:
Who doesn’t love the sound of a triple chocolate cookie? But was it as good as I’d imagined?
Taste:
Again, this cookie has a more cakey texture than your standard cookie, however this flavour is pretty tasty. I could definitely eat it daily. It’s chewy like most protein snacks but it tastes good. The flavour is slightly rich, with a strong dark influence and it’s not overly sweet like I expected.
Rating:
7/10 exceeded my taste expectations.
Rocky Choc Mashup Protein Cookie Review:
Why buy a shop bought, high calorie, high fat, high sugar rocky road bar when you can have this preferential alternative?
Taste
I absolutely love the texture of this one. Thanks to the crunchy rice crispy and marshmallow like bits, this cookie has something more than the others which really stands out. Sure, it’s still a bit cakey, but thanks to the rice crispy crunchiness it definitely seems a bit more cookie like. It’s not overly sweet, but there’s a definite fruity twang to it. I’d buy this again and would definitely pick it over the shop bought high calorie alternatives.
Rating
8/10 – still cakey, but added crunch really improved on the others.
Overall Review of The Protein Works Protein Cookies:
These cookies are definitely not what you’d expect. If you’re looking for a bit of crunch then give the rocky road a try. These cookies do a great job of keeping you full and of course they have a great macro-nutrient profile so are definitely worth adding to your lunch box for a mid morning/afternoon snack.
