Myprotein Flavdrops Review

REVIEW: FlavDrops by MyProtein

Lacking sugar, not taste. MyProtein’s FlavDrops are an alternate way to add flavour to your food and drink. They are unique, versatile, vegan-friendly (except the strawberry) sweeteners and contain ZERO calories. That’s right ZILCH!

Overview:

Currently (as of writing), MyProtein has 17 flavours of calorie and sugar-free FlavDrops:

These FlavDrops are the perfect way to spruce up unflavoured protein, oats, shakes and smoothies. In fact, due to the great offers MyProtein have, it normally works out better value to buy unflavoured protein and a bottle of FlavDrops. The easy to use droplet system ensures you have full control over the required amount of drops you need. However, I personally found the system a little infuriating and would’ve preferred a pipette style system (I’ll explain why later) **check our 2018 update below**.

This is the perfect product for anybody looking to reduce their calories and sugar intake without restricting their taste buds. You’ll notice I’ve omitted the nutritional and macro information, due to the fact there are no fats, no protein and no carbohydrates. The ingredients are simply flavours and sweeteners.

Benefits of FlavDrops:

As they are a highly concentrated sweetener, you only need to use a few drops to flavour up your favourite foods. That means, your bottle will last AGES – seriously, we’ve had one for months now and it’s used daily. But that’s not the only benefit….

  • They are suitable for any goals, whether it’s weight loss, weight gain or maintenance.
  • They’re small and easy transport for use at work, the gym or anywhere you like
  • Once again I’m repeating it, but, THEY ARE CALORIE FREE
  • Sweeteners are better for your teeth than sugar

My Thoughts:

I’ve been using these for quite some time now and they’re a great substitute for sugar rich flavourings. As a religious caramel mocha drinker, a quick replacement of sugary syrup to toffee Flavdrops really made a big difference in my calories but a small/to no difference to the taste.

Just a few drops can transform your bland and boring foods into satisfyingly rich and flavoursome delights – take porridge for example, sure, nobody eats that plain, it’s awful – but 3 drops of FlavDrops and it becomes a tasty gourmet brekkie.

However, it’s not all good. I do love the product, and I will continue to buy the product BUT I have to warn you the droplet can be very temperamental. You can hold it over your food and wait for the drops, which could take a while or you could give it a quick squeeze (mistake). As soon as you give even the slightest of squeezes you end up pouring too much on. THEN, because the droplet stores some liquid, it starts leaking on the cupboard. There isn’t loads, and it doesn’t stain – but it can be very annoying.

Myprotein used to use a pipette system previously and then moved to this new “controlled droplet” – however, there are many customers who would prefer the return of the pipette.

But don’t let the packaging deter you from the benefits, these really are a great product for everyone (including vegans).

**2018 FlavDrops Update**

They are back with the pipette system!! No more packaging complaints from us 😀
